objective of the company was to have an integrated software solution
for all of its major sections including financials, logistics
and human resources etc.
This unit is a production unit for matchboxes that require a very
labour intensive manufacturing process. As match box manufacturing
requires the raw material that is highly inflammable and very
destructive in nature; therefore, a lot of extra safety measures
have to be taken at every stage from storage to production to
distribution and this makes every intermediate operational process
very complicated. Packing of matchsticks is also very peculiar
as it uses a very specific stamping system on the packaged product.
Company's wage calculation process is also very complex as the
salary of workers depends upon many factors. Company also wanted
to have a workflow and executive information system.
Scarlet, with a track record of implementing successful solutions,
across a spectrum of industries, was awarded this responsibility
to provide a customized ERP solution envisioned by the management.
Our team started the project with the goal to provide a software
solution that would deliver a measurable shift in the business
capability of the company. The scope for this customized ERP solution
comprised of implementation of voucher activity, general ledger,
books, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, trial
balance, balance sheet, wage sheet production, register for adult
workers, allocation chart, docket for absence, worker loan slip,
wage calculation, p.f. accounting, material management, manufacturing
resource planning, resource indent, rate contract, purchase order,
production planning, shop floor control, manufacturing and costing,
sales, distribution and report generator. This ERP solution was
developed in Developer 2000 and Oracle operating on Novell Netware.
